Donald Trump imposes prices on the islands only of penguins

Even penguins are not exempt from Donald Trumpprices.

On April 3, the president announced a new plan which implemented a universal tariff of 10% on imports in the United States, as well as higher rates for dozens of selected countries.

Among the places that will face new import taxes include the Australian Islands heard and the McDonald Islands, which are near the Arctic. But these islands – which currently contain active volcanoes – are completely uninhabited by humans. In fact, you need a two -week trip by Perth boat to even access the islands.

“Since the first landing on Heard Island in 1855, there were only around 240 visits to land on the island,” notes the website of the Antarctic Australian program, “and only two landings on McDonald Island (in 1971 and 1980).”

And with the value of all the elements imported by the United States in 2024, which increased to zero, the price of 10% will apparently affect penguins and seals that call for small territories at home.
