The American Sports Director of Sports Sports American changed its policy for transgender athletes on Thursday, allowing only women assigned to birth to compete in female sports. The decision to move the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) one day after President Donald Trump published an executive decree aimed at prohibiting transgender athletes of female girls and sports.
The order allows federal agencies to refuse the financing of groups which do not consider the sexes attributed to birth in determining sex.
The NCAA includes 1,100 colleges in the 50 states with more than 530,000 athlete students.
“We firmly believe that clear, coherent and uniform eligibility standards would be used as well as students at today instead of a patchwork of conflictual laws and court decisions,” said the president of NCAA , Charlie Baker, in a press release.
“To this end, the order of President Trump provides a clear national standard.”
Trump says he saved female sports
Trump took a victory tour on social networks, saying that he had saved female sports.
