Dolphins ‘trying pretty hard’ to sign Odell Beckham

Could Odell Beckham Jr. take his talents to South Beach?

Last month at NFL league meetings, Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said the team had made an offer to Beckham, who spent last season with the Baltimore Ravens.

According to ESPN, Miami is “making an effort” to sign the former Giants receiver, but the two sides have not reached an agreement.

Beckham signed with Baltimore last year as a free agent on a one-year deal worth $16 million.

The 31-year-old is coming off a somewhat disappointing season, catching 35 passes for 565 yards.

It was his first year back since missing all of 2022 due to the torn ACL he suffered in the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams.

Even before this injury, Beckham saw his production drop since 2019, which was his last year of 1,000+ receiving yards as a member of the Cleveland Browns.

Beckham, the Giants’ first-round pick in 2014 at No. 12 overall, became a star early in his career, when he was selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons.

Known for his playmaking ability and scoring catches, Beckham was hampered by injuries during his final two seasons with the Giants before being traded to Cleveland before the 2019 season.

The Browns released Beckham midway through the 2021 season and he was picked up by the Rams, where he helped Los Angeles win the 2022 Super Bowl, although he suffered a torn ACL during the game.

This caused Beckham to miss the entire next season before returning in ’23.

Now he’s looking for a new home again and could be a good fit in Miami, where Tyreek Hill added to the rumor mill, posting an old photo of the two receivers kissing on Friday.

Beckham quickly dismissed the idea that a deal had been reached, saying he had not signed a new contract.
