DOGE has removed an additional $ 4 billion from its “receipt wall”

  • The White House Doge’s office fell $ 4 billion in savings on its website.
  • The group has already made similar mistakes, as when it reduced its $ 9 billion savings in 2 days.
  • Since the website does not provide details for all claimed savings, other totals are difficult to check.

The White House Doge’s office has reduced additional $ 4 billion – on its own savings list, not the federal budget.

Sunday evening, the group removed or changed more than 1,000 contracts that said they had canceled, according to the New York Times. Together, the changes represented more than 40% of the contracts that the White House office had listed on its website the previous week.

Business Insider previously indicated that the group had reduced its savings claimed by more than $ 9 billion over a period of two days last month. In February, he called for savings on his $ 16.5 billion website, mainly in canceled contracts. On March 4, this issue fell to around $ 8 billion, according to the “Reception Wall” of the site, which lists the canceled contracts.

Some contracts represent a large part of the changes – for example, the site said that the cancellation of an internal revenue service contract had saved $ 1.9 billion, according to Times. Really, the point of sale found that the contract was canceled in November. The same goes for the previous accounting snafus of the White House office, when it claimed to save around $ 2 billion by canceling three USAID offers, before removing two of the entries and with them $ 1.3 billion in savings.

The website now indicates that the group has saved $ 105 billion in total, but does not list the details of the savings other than contracts, such as the names of the subsidies or buildings terminated with canceled leases, which makes the total difficult to check.

The White House office has repeatedly tempered expectations. Elon Musk, the group’s de facto chief, initially declared that he would help reduce 2 billions of dollars from the federal budget, before going back to 1 dollars. And earlier in the day, an agency discreetly published a key note linked to Musk’s efforts to redo the federal workforce after a court decision.

Representatives of the Trump Administration and the Doge Board of the White House did not respond to the request for BI comments.
