Doechii fans are divided after a video that emerged showing the rapper shouting on his staff before she appears at Met Gala.
And instead of apologizing, she thanked her team but said that the event was “overtimulant”.
Doechii is the last female artists whose star rises not to apologize after a reaction from the fans, but to highlight her own needs. Last year, Chappell Roan was criticized for not having taken photos with fans and shouted on a photographer of the VMA 2024. She also explained how the interactions of renown and fans had a negative effect on her mental health.
On Monday, a Tiktok account entitled Thevikeiken published the video of Paparazzi spotting Doechii at the Mark Hotel in New York, where celebrities often dress before appearing on the Red Carpet of Met Gala.
Celebrities generally hide their outfits before the big revelation on the red carpet, therefore The Doechii team quickly tried to cover it with a wardrobe and umbrellas.
While the team was trying to find more umbrellas, Doechii could be heard in a raised voice: “Give me another umbrella. I need more damn umbrellas.”
Some fans have criticized Doechi for raising their voice and using a juron word while talking to his team.
On Wednesday, Doechii responded to the drama by sharing a video of Tiktok subtitled: “God does not like a girl needs more umbrellas.”
@IAMDOECHII_ All the jokes aside it was such a overtimulating evening, but I would not exchange it for the world! It was the night we all dreamed of and my team killed her (on the side) ðŸ˜ðŸ¥´

“All the jokes aside it was such a overtimulating evening, but I would not exchange it for the world! It was the night we all dreamed of and my team killed her (on the side),” she wrote under the video.
Doechii has also made a rehaction on its Instagram history. In a later article, she said that she was proud of her glamorous and fashionable teams, and that she had dreamed of attending the Met Gala for a long time.
Any major red carpet event can be a place to shine for celebrities. But a first appearance on the prestigious red carpet of the Met Gala, as was the case for Doechii, can be a decisive moment of career and a sign that a person is about to become an A-Lister.
Some fans, including rapper JT, praised Doechii’s response. She commented Tiktok from Doechii that she understood that it was a stressful night.
Doechii was also part of this year’s gala committee.
“It was anxietyyyyyyyyis! Big night! Tos beginnings! Getty was there, I understand! You ate!” JT wrote.
Other fans have criticized Doechii for not having taken responsibility for his actions or apologizing publicly.
A Doechii representative did not immediately respond to a comment request to Business Insider.
