Philadelphia – The undefeated beginning of the Dodgers ended with a groan.
Hold on two strokes in seven rounds by the left-hander Jesus Luzardo, the Dodgers rallied late, but underwent their first defeat of the season, 3-2, at the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday evening at the Citizens Bank Park.
Given the preference decided by Tokyo fans (although the Dodgers are officially the team on the road against the Chicago Cubs) and the Homestand of six games that followed, the loss came in the first Dodgers match in front of a hostile crowd this season – a house filled with 43,024.
While winning their first eight games as reigning champions, the Dodgers have an average of more than 5½ points per game and hit 18 circuits. Friday, they went down against Luzardo.
The left -hander of the Phillies withdrew 16 of the first 17 strikers that the Dodgers sent. Only Teoscar Hernandez broke the rope with a simple head in the second round. Andy Pages attracted a walk in one time in the sixth for the second Baserunner of the Dodgers, but he was chosen.
Hernandez was the only Dodger who almost scored in the first eight heats. He flew second after his simple second round and flew to the warning track in the left field in the fourth round. He reached a double of bloop with two withdrawals in seventh round and stole third place. But Kiké Hernandez put the turn to break it.
Dodgers’ starters, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, only had a slightly more difficult night than Luzardo’s promenade at 95 points. The phillies had runners on the basis of five of her six heats, but they hit two double games and needed help to mark their only race against Yamamoto.
Trea Turner doubled the third-base line during the first round, then broke for the third on a flight attempt. Yamamoto spotted it in time, left the rubber and launched the third. It was not a good throw, however, and exceeded Miguel Rojas, bouncing in a nauseating territory while Turner trotted at his home.
The phillies withdrew with two points at the end of the seventh against the lifter of the Dodgers Kirby Yates.
Yates lit the fire walking the first man he faced. Nick Castellanos doubled on the left, putting the runners in the second and third without withdrawal. Yates withdrew JT Realmuto. But with the inner field, Bryson Stott chose the left side. With the inner field back, Brandon Marsh finished driving in the second round of the sleeve.
The Dodgers dragged at one point in six of their eight opening games of the season, but the rally on Friday was just short.
The singles of Rojas and Shohei Ohtani put runners in the corners with two withdrawals in the eighth. Ohtani tried to steal the second goal with Mookie Betts in the stick, however, and was thrown to end the Channel.
Betts walked to lead the ninth and scored on the Home Run by Tommy Edman (his fifth circuit of the season). Phillies Closer Jordan Romano A walked Will Smith to put the attachment race on the basis with an outing. The pinch runner Chris Taylor stole second while Max Muncy removed the side – but the call in the second was overthrown during the replay, ending the game.
