Defensive errors cost Dodgers two points on Monday. The stellar defense of Washington nationals prevented two, if not more.
In the loss of 6-4 of Dodgers in Nationals Park to open a series of three games, which turned out to be the biggest difference. And with the team having lost three of the four games entering Tuesday, he strengthened which quickly became a disconcerting theme at the start of the season.

As was the story of the defeat of the series last weekend against the Philadelphia phillies, when the defensive breakdowns and the basic errors ended 8-0 of the team at the start, the Dodgers continued to fight with the fundamental principles on Monday, digging a first hole from which they never completely recovered-even during a night, Shohei Ohtani, cycle.

With two on and one back in the second, Mookie Betts left a fire of an Hopper for sure at the stop stop, misunderstanding a low rebound on an error which allowed an unprecedented race.
“I missed it,” said Betts. “Whether he jumped or stayed at the bottom, whatever.”

With two outings, Miguel Rojas started a grout more routine at the second goal, which led to another error and an unprecedented race.
“Defensively today, we have given them a lot of chance for them to score a few points,” said Rojas. “So we have to clean this.”
The defense of the Nationals, on the other hand, has twice removed blows of blows which have dangerously dangerous rallies.
In the third, Max Muncy was deprived of additional bases on a dive into the right field by Alex Call – only three strikers before Ohtani strikes a circuit of two points which would have marked three.
In the fifth, Rojas was denied a blow when the Paul Dejong stop stop made a diving stop in the hole – just two strikers before Ohtani was making a triple who would have brought him home, but was wasted in an outstanding sleeve.

Then, while the Dodgers tried to rally from a 6-4 deficit in the ninth, a dubbed head of Muncy was followed by a diving stop on a balloon on the ground Hunter Feduccia by the second goal of the national championships Luis García Jr., probably saving another race while the Nationals sewn an opening victory in series.

“It seems that every night there are fundamentally that we simply do not play clean baseball,” said manager Dave Roberts. “Give additional teams or abandon the basics, or anything.”
The defense of other teams is beyond the control of the Dodgers. But their own repeated errors have become an increasing source of frustration in the first weeks.
The Dodgers had made seven errors entering Tuesday, all in six games. They had given 10 not deserved points, most of them in the majors. They even had a hard time slowing down the racing game, abandoning the fleeting on the first 12 attempts of the opponents, including three in the Nationals on Monday.
“We have to clean up some things on all sides of the ball,” said Muncy. “We know we are better than we have played.”

“We expect the best of us every day, and it’s supposed to be good every day,” added Rojas. “But I mean, it happens. We have to continue working on it … We have to pay attention to the details a little more. ”
We expect it to expect. Betts is still reactive at the Copstrame after its three-month cameo last year. A main exterior alignment of Michael Comforto, Teoscar Hernández and Andy Pages (which obtained a day off on Monday in the middle of his opening crisis of the season, even with the left -hander Mackenzie Gore on the mound) is not exactly an infallible defensive unit.
And this Dodgers range was built with the offensive as main consideration, helping them to classify the first five in score and second in the circuits on Tuesday, even if they were without Freddie Freeman (which remains on the list of injuries with an ankle injury) for all matches except three.
But on Monday, their bats could not bail them out.

The Dodgers only managed two points in six rounds against Gore, which accumulated seven stick withdrawals while making five strokes. They scored twice in the eighth but failed potential runs when Kiké Hernández struck to end the Channel. Then in the ninth, they could not do anything with the double of Muncy, even with nationals closer to Kyle Finnegan for a stop of five outings on his third consecutive day of pitching.
To make matters worse, their best time of defensive excellence – when the defender of the Tommy Edman center threw a runner at home in the seventh – came in a round that the Nationals (4-6) marked three times the Lights Anthony Banda and Matt Sauer.
“If you lose a few games and don’t play clean baseball, you watch a match and you say:” We could have done it, or it could have changed the result “”, said Roberts. “There are still good things that have happened tonight. … But yes, I just think about the bar, the standard, is high enough for our club. And I know they feel the same.”
Everything overshadowed Ohtani’s monstrous night on the plate, which included a simple in the first in the first in the first, its two-point explosion towards the enclosure of the right field lifts in the third, the triple of fifth round which struck the top of the wall in the center, plus a walk in the ninth at-bat before Betts ends to end the game.

He also left Dustin May with a difficult defeat, the starting launcher having abandoned a single deserved race in an outing of six rounds in which, after the first problems of command, led to three walks that aggravated the defensive errors, he withdrew the last 11 strikers he faced.
“We just have to continue coming every day and cleaning these things,” said Rojas. “I hope that we can start to improve on the whole, and not only while waiting for the miracle to occur in the last two sleeves. I think we are going to clean it a little more on the defense and on the basics, and we all know it.”
