Phoenix – Mathematics is simple. The solution is not.
If the dodgers will ask less from their lifts, who run the majors in lanches launched (167) until Thursday, the only way to do so is to ask more of their starting launchers, who launched the least in the majors (167).
“It’s difficult,” said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. “Every night, you look back and be Roki (sasaki) throwing 98 throws in five rounds and I don’t want to put it in danger and go further. It’s Dustin can launch 90 years to spend five rounds.
“These are things that they have to put us in position to make them work more. It’s just like that. Tony (Gonsolin) made his second start with us (Tuesday). There is this beautiful line to try to make these guys work more deeply, but also to try not to break these beginners too. It is not an exact science.”
It’s simple mathematics, however. Dodgers’ starting launchers were among the least effective in baseball, with an average of 16.75 launches by handle launched, the seventh plus in the majors this season. More Pitch efficiency is a way to deepen games.
“Yes, that is,” said Robert, stressing the lack of efficiency as a major factor in the total low rounds for the team’s beginners.
“I think there is a lack of efficiency. … At the start of the season, I saw myself making sure that the guys set foot under them. Now that they have their place, I feel more comfortable to extend them to the century (100 locations) with some guys. ”
Yoshinobu Yamamoto is the only launcher starting from Dodgers to throw 100 throws in a departure this season. He did it twice before Thursday.
Dodgers can also move the workload to starting launchers based on fewer “enclosure games”. They will do this Sunday starting Tony Gonsolin on four days of rest against the Diamondbacks of Arizona.
Gonsolin will be the first from the Dodgers this season to start a match on four days of rest (excluding openers).

The right-handers Michael Kopech began his rehabilitation mission with Triple-A Oklahoma City Thursday evening while walking the five strikers he faced. Kopech launched 23 throws, only three strikes.
The start of the Kopech season was delayed by discomfort of the forearm last fall, a disease this winter and a shoulder this spring. He appears on the list of 60 days injured and Roberts said he would probably make a handful of rehabilitation appearances before “it’s a real conversation” on activation.
Friendly fire
Tommy Edman did a little race to test his injured right ankle and faced a live pitch on Thursday. This pitch came from Emmett Sheehan, which progressed to face the strikers when it restores Tommy John surgery a year ago. Sheehan launched 40 throws during Thursday’s session.
Edman, on the other hand, is eligible to get out of the IL on Saturday, but he is not expected to return before next week.
“I think it came out very well,” said Roberts. “He took five strikes with Emmet Sheehan today, which is great. So today it was another positive day for Tommy.”

Shohei Ohtani is expected to increase the workload during his weekly session of the enclosure of the lifts on Saturday. He must make a “overturned” – simulating the rupture between two rounds. Roberts repeated Thursday that Ohtani is “on a path” to face the strikers during his launch sessions and should not present games before the star break.
