Doctor says smoking a vape is equivalent to a worrying amount of cigarettes

Many people vape, but one doctor has looked into what a standard 600 puff vape actually is.

A doctor has determined how many cigarettes equal a standard 600 puff vape.

After so many teens and adults decided to try disposable vapes because of their flavor selection and ability to fit in your pocket at a party, a doctor Tic Tac came out to issue warnings that disposable products vapes can be very dangerous for your health.

Initially sold as a better alternative to cigarettes, the number of people vaping has increased so much in recent years that it can be difficult to walk down the street without passing through a cloud of vape.

Many people opt for disposable vapes that come in different flavors and are meant to be thrown away once they are used up.

They may be a healthier alternative to smoking, but vapes are not free of health risks and behind the flavors and shiny packaging lies a health risk that many vapers are unaware of.

Taking to TikTok, Dr Onkar Mudhar issued the warning that smoking a full 600 puff vape was “the equivalent of around 48 to 50 cigarettes”.

He said: “Not only is the nicotine in these devices highly addictive, it also puts you at risk of developing gum disease, dry mouth, tooth decay and early tooth loss.

“Plus, they can also cause bad breath. So try to avoid them at all costs.”

Dr Gareth Nye has predicted that in 10 years “an entire generation” of 30-year-olds could suffer from lung problems.

He warned that the liquid contains nicotine and other harmful substances also found in cigarettes, meaning that while vaping is safer than smoking, it is not risk-free.

Dr Nye said there was a “disturbing notion” among young people that vaping was safe when that was “simply not true”.

The situation has become so serious around the world that Australia has started installing detectors in schools after students as young as 12 were caught vaping on school grounds.

It seems that quick vaping in the school bathroom has become the new way to sneak behind the bike shed for a cigarette (guilty!).

Rishi Sunak has also decided to crack down on this.

The use of disposable vapes has exploded, with a recent study showing that 16.7% of vapers in the UK are using them, a huge rise from the previous figure of 1.2%.
