The champion was gearing up for a huge undisputed clash against Artur Beterbiev, however, that fight was postponed.

The showdown between two top boxers had been eagerly anticipated for several years, but Beterbiev suffered a torn meniscus, forcing the fight to be delayed.

Bivol will now face Zinad who will fight for his first world title while aiming to maintain his undefeated professional record.

This means the Libyan is now part of an impressive card that includes Deontay Wilder, Daniel Dubois and many others.

This huge fight was scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 1 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The fight is expected to start around 10:30 p.m. UK time.

The card will be broadcast live on TNT Sports and DAZN in the UK.

Bivol against Zinad: What was said?

Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia, announced that Betebiev vs Bivol had been postponed to May.

He said: “After receiving today’s news regarding Beterbiev’s injury, we will postpone the Beterbiev vs. Bivol fight scheduled for June 1 until later this year.

“I wish my brother Artur a speedy recovery. However, the 5v5 event is still running on June 1st.”

It was then confirmed that Bivol would face Zinad, with Alalshikh saying: “Dmitry Bivol vs Malik Zinad has been confirmed for June 1.

“This will be a separate event from 5v5, but it will be included in the same PPV and ticket purchased for 5v5.”
