DJ Akademiks, a hip-hop expert known for spreading false information and making sexist comments, has been prosecuted for rape. rolling stone reports that Fauziya Abashe has filed a lawsuit against Akademiks (born Livingston Allen), for two incidents that occurred in 2022. Abashe dated Akademiks in 2021, but the alleged incidents occurred almost a year after their split. Abashe said she was invited to Akademiks’ home in New Jersey where she said two men drugged, assaulted and raped her on her pool deck. Early the next morning, she claims to have woken up to the Akademiks “brutally raping” her. The akademiks did not respond to rolling stone about the costume. Abashe also claims in the complaint that Akademiks then showed her surveillance footage of the two men raping her, and that she later included text messages from Akademiks saying she should “get tested” and that she ‘he would do it too. She also claims the Akademiks later admitted to having sex with her during a phone call.

Abashe said she initially complained to the police but decided not to press charges. She eventually filed a complaint after Akademiks mentioned the incident in a December 23, 2023, video, claiming that Abashe “was being dragged by my two men to the pool deck” while he was sleeping. Abashe claims the Akademiks defamed her, both by claiming she participated “voluntarily” and by “claiming he never participated at all.” Abashe’s lawyer, Tyrone Blackburn, said rolling stone they only filed suit “after several unsuccessful attempts to resolve this matter privately.”

The lawsuit comes as Akademiks has been a key supporter of Drake in his conflict with Kendrick Lamar. The Akademiks spotted a discord on Lamar’s “6:16 in LA” and went on to insist that Lamar is lying about Drake being a pedophile on songs like “Not Like Us.” Akademiks was previously known for supporting Tory Lanez during his trial for shooting Megan Thee Stallion and spreading false information. About his trial, Abashe said rolling stone“I am confident that justice will prevail and the veil will be removed so that no other woman will have to endure what I have done.”
