A diver died during preliminary operations to recover the superyacht from the Mike Lynch British technology magnate from northern coasts, the local police announced.
The accident occurred on Friday while the diver was underwater at Porticello, the police said, adding that the precise cause of the death was still unknown.
According to local Italian media, the diver was a 39 -year -old Dutch national who worked for a specialized rescue company.
It occurs while the recovery ships arrived earlier this month for the waters of the small port of Porticello, near Palermo, where the Bayesian ship flowed in bizarre weather last August.
Seven of the 22 people aboard the Bayesian last summer were killed, including Mr. Lynch, 59, and his 18 -year -old daughter Hannah.
Morgan Stanley International Bank Jonathan Bloomer, 70, and his wife, Judy, 71, the American lawyer Chris Mornovillo, his wife Neda Mornovillo and the chief of the yacht, Recaldo Thomas, who was from Antigua, also died on August 19.
Fifteen people managed to escape on a rescue canoe, including a one -year -old woman and Mr. Lynch, Angela Bacares.
The cause of the sinking is still under investigation with naval experts saying that a Bayesian caliber yacht should have been able to resist the storm and should certainly not be sunk as quickly as he did.

The recovery operation is supervised by the British navy consulting firm TMC Marine and led by Dutch companies Hebo, a Maritime Service Company in Rotterdam and Smit Salvage, with the support of Italian specialists.
About 70 members of specialized staff were deployed in Sicily from all over Europe to work on the recovery operation.
On Thursday, the team said that the preparations on the spot were on time and that “significant progress” had been made in the last five days.
The analysis of the yacht and the surrounding seabed confirmed that there had been no change in its state since the last inspection, which means that the plans to raise the ship can now move forward.
The work to move the Bayesian in a vertical position and raise it on the surface were to start later this month – subject to weather and appropriate sea conditions.
Before the ship was transported to the port, seawater will be pumped.

Before the Bayesian is raised, he will be held in position by steel slings, while the recovery workers detach the extensive rigging of the ship and the 72 m (236 feet) mast, considered one of the largest in the world.
These will then be stored on the seabed and recovered after the team has recovered the ship’s hull, which, according to the investigators, is a main source of evidence.
There was no pollution of the yacht reported, the conditions being monitored and the efforts made to secure its vents and reservoir openings.

Investigation procedures in the United Kingdom examine the death of Mr. Lynch and his daughter, such as Mr. and Mrs. Bloodor, who were all British nationals.
Mr. Lynch and his daughter would have lived near London, and the Bloods lived in Sevenoaks in Kent.
The magnate founded the autonomy of the software giant in 1996 and was authorized in June of last year to make massive fraud on the sale of the company in Hewlett-Packard (HP) in 2011.
Boat trip was a celebration of its acquittal in the case in the United States.
