A diver died on Friday during preliminary operations to recover the superyacht from the Mike Lynch British technology magnate from northern coasts, the local police announced.
The Bayesian 56 meters long (184 feet) was moored from the small port of Porticello, near Palermo, in August of last year, when he was probably struck by a boost, a very strong low wind, killing seven people, including Lynch and his daughter Hannah.
The accident occurred on Friday occurred while the diver was underwater at Porticello, the police said, adding that the precise cause of the death was still unknown.
The attempt to lift the yacht from the sea bed is expected later this month and should help shed light on how a supposedly insinable ship has disappeared in the sea.
Italian press agencies said that the diver was a 39 -year -old Dutch national who worked for the Dutch recovery company Hebo Maritiemservice.
Hebo was not immediately available to comment.
