After the start of his second term, President Donald Asset redecorated the oval office with a Aesthetics on the theme of gold Similar to his Trump Tower Penthouse and his Domaine Mar-A-Lago in Florida. An expert notes a distinct similarity between Trump and that of a French monarch known for his exaggerated taste.
In a Friday test for the slateFrench professor of Grinnell College, David Harrison – who also leads a study focused on France – observed how Trump looked like Louis XIV (also known as “The Sun King”) in his approach to the Oval Office and the White House. Harrison reminded readers that Trump had sought to recreate the same “Hall of Mirror” to Mar-A-Lago at the Palais de Versailles.
He named the interior architect Angelo Donghia as the brain behind Trump’s Manhattan residence in the same vein as Versailles, which he noted the Duke of Saint-Simon criticized as “a bad taste in bad taste”. And he estimated that Trump’s favorite style would not be considered favorably by most Americans. However, the French expert continued by suggesting that beyond his monarchist aesthetic, Trump’s approach to decorate the oval office could also be considered a reflection of the way he considers power.

“With the anti-royalist feeling that characterizes American politics, I always assumed that most Americans did not have real stomachs for pride and pure Garine that defined the most famous style and environment in France,” wrote Harrison. “More disturbing, of course, than the president’s taste is the vision of the administration of executive authority.
However, the French expert continued by suggesting that beyond his monarchist aesthetic, Trump’s approach to decorate the oval office could also be considered a reflection of the way he considers power.
According to Harrison, the similarities between Trump and Louis XIV end when looking for differences in the way each leader has governed. While Trump has so far chaired the deconstruction of the administrative state, the Sun King has made significant investments in science, arts and technological progress. He estimated that Trump looks much more like Louis XVI, which he described as a “mediocre” leader who was finally overthrown.
“It is an irony of history that Trump’s love story with Louis XIV can mean that this experience will ultimately continue elsewhere-in some lands, we probably consider it behind and not civilized, and where a Hall of golden mirrors has less attraction than a system of laws and values against authoritarianism,” he wrote.
