Saturday January 4, the Maine-et-Loire gendarmerie launched a call for witnesses to try to find Justine, 24 years old. The young woman, a student in Limoges, had not given any sign of life since she went for a walk with her dog in Beaupréau, north of Cholet.
Justine Roche, 24, left Beaupréau, in Maine-et-Loire, to “get walking with a little white dog“, specified the Maine-et-Loire gendarmes in their call for witnesses published on Saturday January 4.
The searches carried out by the gendarmerie made it possible to find the lifeless body of the young woman at the end of the morning this Sunday, January 5 in a “collective basin” located in La Roche Baraton, in Beaupréau, 300 m from the family home, according to the Angers public prosecutor Eric Bouillard.
The accident trail is currently favored. The body of a fox having also been found in this basin, the prosecutor puts forward the hypothesis that Justine may have wanted to help her dog attacked by this fox.
The investigation continues to determine the exact causes of the young woman’s death.
According to our information, the young woman has been a master’s student in Geography since September 2022 in Limoges.
“We were warned by the gendarmerie who wanted to check that she was not at our home,” one of her friends and roommates told France 3 Limousin.
