“He says that we have to speak to the Russians, that we must show diplomacy. He has had the opportunity to go and that he will now practice it,” added the advisor. “He goes on an adventure to document what he sees.”
The advisor said that the visit was organized by the German legislator not attached Michael von Der Schulenburg, near Panayiotou, and other deputies belonging to the Sarah Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW), a movement of derivation of Die Linke, the traditional leftist party of Germany. As Brussels Playbook reported, the MP of BSW Ruth Firmenich also participates.
Earlier Thursday, Panayiotou published a video of himself and other deputies of deputies claiming to be “voice for peace”.
“We can only reach peace by speaking with each other and to try to find compromises. This is what it is about,” he said, apparently criticizing the traditional EU diplomatic position on Russia.
Firmenich, Fabio de Masi de Bsw and eight other deputies appeared in the video.
Other deputies exceed some of the Sller Slovak power party, whose Prime Minister Robert Fico is also present.
