An ice skater who was left in critical condition after a fall mid-performance at a Disney on Ice show in Minnesota was recovering Monday at a Minneapolis hospital, according to a report.
Anastasia Olson, 31, was knocked over when another performer dropped her in an accident while she was performing as Belle from “Beauty and the Beast” at Target Center.
Olson’s condition was upgraded from critical to serious on Monday, according to the Star Tribune.
More information about his recovery was not immediately available.
A local mom, identified by the station as Beka, said Belle appeared “shaky” before falling during the transport she took alongside an actor playing the Beast.
“They were lifting her, she seemed to be shaking and she fell,” the mother said, adding that the injury occurred about 40 minutes after the 11 a.m. show began.
“I am beyond grateful to the remaining staff and artists who have continued because it preserves the magic for the children. I know it must have been very difficult,” she added.
Horrifying video footage of the incident shared on shows the actor portraying Belle appearing to have a seizure while lying on the ice, as the actor playing the Beast hovers over her and doctors rush to her side.
Disney on Ice said it “appreciates the well wishes from our fans as our team members recover.”
Performances at the downtown Minneapolis arena continued as planned after the fall.
