A former staff member of the world who hacked the company’s computer system and changed the warning of menu allergens was sentenced to three years in prison.
Michael Scheuer, 40, from Winter Garden, Florida, made changes that were potentially fatal for people with peanuts, nuts, crustaceans and milk, but menus have never reached restaurants.
Scheuer has also changed the location of wine regions on the menus to correspond to the locations of recent mass fire, added a swine cross to a menu, integrated a QR code that would take customers on a website that has urged boycotting from Israeli companies and locked 14 employees of their accounts.
It will serve time to knowingly transmit a program, code or order to a protected computer and intentionally cause damage and have committed an aggravated identity theft, a judge determined on Thursday.
Scheuer was also ordered to lose his computer and pay $ 687,776 in restitution to the victims of his crimes.
The former “menu production director” pleaded guilty on January 29.
Documents show that Scheuer led a series of computer attacks in the Disney system after its termination in June for what was described as a “fault”.

Part of the man’s responsibilities concerned the publication of the menus for the entire Disney restaurant portfolio. The company reported it to the police as a potential suspect after an internal investigation.
Federal investigators executed a search warrant at Scheuer’s home in September and seized four computers. At the time, he said that the company wanted to supervise it due to the conditions under which it was dismissed.
He was arrested the following month. The day before detention, he went to the home of a former colleague, headed for the ring of the ring of the ring and gave a boost. Disney then put the employee in a hotel.
Society no longer uses the software that man has hacked, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
