Scandal-hit special prosecutor Nathan Wade spoke publicly for the first time after dropping his ex-lover and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ case against Donald Trump.
Wade was at the center of a bitter divorce case, where it was revealed that he was in a relationship with Willis. The scandal shook the county’s case against Trump, and Wade was forced to resign as lead prosecutor.
Giving his first interview since his resignation, he was outraged and unapologetic about his relationship with Willis.
“Workplace romances are as American as apple pie,” he said. ‘It happens to everyone. But it happened to both of us.
Wade was a little more willing to express his regrets when asked if he wasn’t happy with how everything went, but he was still on guard.

“I regret that this private matter has become the focal point of this very important prosecution,” he told ABC News. “This is a very important matter.”
“I hate that my personal life is starting to overshadow the real issues in this case.”
He also admitted that he had tried to put aside his feelings for Willis given the importance of the case, but said his “feelings are so strong.”
“Absolutely, absolutely. I admit that could have been an approach,” Wade said.
“But then again, when you’re in the middle of it all, these feelings develop and you get to a point where the feelings are so strong that, you know, you start wanting to do things that really aren’t part of things. . public concern.
Willis’ conduct was scrutinized during a series of sensational hearings, with Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee ultimately criticizing her for a “tremendous error of judgment” and for acting in an “unprofessional manner.”
Wade has yet to respond to accusations of contempt of court made by his ex-wife in a divorce filing filed in April.
Joycelyn Wade made the accusation in court documents filed Wednesday, saying her former partner failed to pay her medical bills worth $4,400.
Wade was a little more willing to express his regrets when asked if he wasn’t happy with how everything went, but he remained guarded.
He also admitted that he had tried to put aside his feelings for Willis given the importance of the case against former President Donald Trump, but said his “feelings are so strong.”
“Defendant is in urgent need of medical procedures, namely an endoscopy, colonoscopy, and ultrasound, due to the severe physical symptoms she has endured,” the filing states.
“These symptoms significantly impacted his ability to consume most foods, resulting in substantial weight loss.”
She claims she hasn’t been able to pay the bills herself since Wade stopped paying child support for their two children.
However, she got off with a slap on the wrist, after McAfee dramatically decided she could stay on in Trump’s election interference case if Wade stepped down.
