Andor Perhaps put an end to his race acclaimed by criticism with season two, but the main actors Diego Luna and Adria Arjona have both a very specific story that they would come back to tell.
The original plan for the Disney + series created by Tony Gilroy was to produce five seasons of the evolution of five years from Cassian Andor to the rebel hero who made the ultimate sacrifice in 2016 Rogue One: A Star Wars story. However, after doing the first season, Gilroy and Luna both realized that their initial objective was too ambitious and probably required at least a decade of their lives to fill. As a result, Gilroy has rather designed a narrative structure for season two which extends over four years. Each block of three episodes explores a few significant days during this special year before jumping for another year in the next block of episodes. With each continuation, the characters refer to the invisible stories during the gap of one year in the previous history.
Thus, the first episode of season two begins in 4 BBY, a year after the violent events of Andor the assistance final. Cassian and his friends of Ferrix Survivors – Composed of Bix Caleen (Arjona), Brasso (Joplin Sibtain), Wilmon (Muhannad Bhaier) and B2emo – hide on the agricultural planet of Mina -Rau. And thanks to the mission off Plan de Cassian, as well as the marketing of season two, it is established that Cass and Bix rekindled the romance they probably had during their adolescence on Ferrix.
There is no explanation on the way it happened; This happened between the seasons, and this is exactly the story that Luna and Arjona want to capture.
“I would like to tell the story of these two characters during the year that we do not see between season one and the second season,” explains Luna The Hollywood Reporter in support of Andor First of three episodes of season two on April 22. “This moment of history in a galaxy far, far is its darkest, and having the opportunity to see a love story and build a love story could be so beautiful and unique. And it’s also cheaper! “
Below, during a recent conversation with THRLuna and Arjona also discuss AndorThe impact on Rogue One: A Star Wars story And how he recontextualizes key moments.

There are references to invisible stories between each block of episodes. Do you both know all the details of these one-year shortcomings?
Adria Arjona There were few references on the page, and I will refer one that Diego always refers because I love it. In the first episode, he said, “I need to call me.” And with a line, it sums up the one year gap of what is happening between these two characters. They found the house in each other. That’s all you really need to know about this one -year gap and understand their dynamics. So, sometimes it was on the page and other times, there were discussions that I, Diego and Tony would have. I don’t know how it was with other characters, but it was our process.
Diego Luna It was sometimes necessary to answer specific questions. With the wardrobe, for example, why does he wear that? What is behind this room? And that would fill these shortcomings. As an actor, we would also have these conversations on the set with the directors. Tony is a very meticulous writer; He has an answer to everything. But then, as a producer, he is very intelligent. There is a moment when he delivers (the script) and gives room for directors to start doing their job and bringing their own perspective. This show ended up being like (eight) films because of this. There are rules that Tony establishes, but this is the work you do with the directors. So we had to fill some of these shortcomings with the directors, and it was a fun process because he kept everyone very alert. The answers are there so that you can find, but you have to do your job.

Theoretically, if you were an idea of a cool film involving one of these off-screen stories, would you both be willing to come back?
Arjona Listen, I like a job!
Luna (Laughter.) It is already in it!
Arjona I am in it!
Luna I would do it, yes. I mean yes. This second season is very clear that, for the Revolution, there is a lot to happen. The political and social climate must be very specific. There is a lot of loss, pain and injustice. But there is something other necessary, which is love and belonging. And I would like to tell the story of these two characters during the year that we do not see between season one and the second season.
Arjona Oh yeah!
Luna This moment of history in a galaxy far, far is its darkest, and to have the opportunity to see a love story and build a love story – and connect them as they seem to be connected when we find them (in season two) – could be so beautiful and unique. It’s interesting, right?
Arjona MM-HMM!
Luna And it’s also cheaper!
Arjona and Luna (Laugh.)
Luna We could do it quickly because we just need an apartment.
Arjona RIGHT!
Luna Everything happens inside.

Diego, when you think of Cassian hugging Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) at the end of Snape Onehas Andor Has completely changed the meaning of this moment for you? And Adria, when you see Cassian hugging Jyn Erso, you say to yourself now: “Yeah, he thinks of Bix”?
Arjona and Luna (Laugh.)
Arjona Hmm, I don’t know. I was not seen Thug A After the shooting of season two, and that’s something I want to do. Once I have finished with the press, I think I’m going to do it. Otherwise, I will proceed in my own way. But I don’t know. I want to believe that this moment belongs to him. But Diego, you should say what you thought.
Luna (Laughter.) “You should save me now.”
Arjona (Laughter.) NOW!
Luna It hasn’t changed my perspective at all.
Arjona So didn’t you think Bix?
Luna GOOD …
Arjona and Luna (Laugh.)
Luna For me, the meaning of this hug goes beyond what you think. They say goodbye to AllAnd what they find in each other is the strength of a decision like that to be taken. But I think that the public’s prospect will certainly change. The prospect you now have as a spectator Snape One is enriched with all this information and images (of Andor). You now have the answers for all these questions. Now you know what Cassian means when he talks about sacrifice and do terrible things for rebellion. Now you understand what is behind his relationship with K-2SO. Now you know what he is wearing. Now you know what it all means, and now you know what life he leaves behind.

As mentioned earlier, Cass and Bix have rekindled their romantic relationship of adolescence, and there is a beautiful moment of intimacy involving their hands. Is it a Ferrix custom in a kind?
Arjona Oh wow, I’m glad you got it back. This is the case, and this is probably one of my favorite moments of Bix this season. Tony hinted or told us that he wanted a Ferrix ritual, something that transported you to their childhood for a few seconds, which you know that they had already done for years and years. It’s a way for them to connect, and only both know where they are at that time. So Tony left her there, then a beautiful choreographer entered and she had all these ideas. But Diego slowly started to do this thing with his hand, then I just followed in a way. It was really beautiful, and it was a time of connection between two actors. So Diego opened the way, and I followed him in this kind of dance he was doing with his hand. And it became that. It was so simple, but there was so much depth in the manufacture and even the performance of it. I had to be so present because I did not know where to go his hand was going to go, but it was really moving. When I watch the series, this is one of my favorite moments.
Luna It’s a huge lesson. You want something really busy and say a lot of choreography. And then, suddenly, it has become something so simple. This very simple gesture says a lot about their whole life.
Arjona There are so many history in there.
Luna It was cool.
