Miami – It was heated. Diego Lopes and Yair Rodriguez exploded during the accusations spent at the press conference before the fight of the UFC 314 on Thursday.
The two pretenders in featherweight entered a stormy argument and had to be retained by a safety conference halfway for the Pay-Per-View event on Saturday at the Kaseya Center.
LOPES (27-6 MMA, 6-1 UFC) fights Alexander Volkanovski for the vacant featherweight title in the main event of the card, and Rodriguez (19-5 MMA, 10-4 UFC) welcomes the former Bellator champion with two Patrio Freire division on the main map.
A journalist asked Lopes if he would fight Rodriguez in Noche UFC in Guadalajara, Mexico, September 13 if he won the title this weekend. It was at this point that all of the hell came off.
“How many consecutive losses does he have?” Lopes replied. “How much? It is not enough (for a title fight).”
Rodriguez replied:
“P * sSy. Didn’t you jump Marco (Beltran) between you and your team? Didn’t you jump Marco with your team? Yes or no? I was waiting for this to tell you this in your face F * Cking. You will pay for Marco.”

Marco Beltran, a UFC veteran, fought Lopes on the Mexican regional scene in 2019 in Monterrey, Mexico. Lopes submitted it with a kneeling bar to win the Lux Featherweight title. Rodriguez alleys that Lopes and his team tried to jump Marco.
Lopes says Rodriguez threatened a woman in her team. There is no exact order or calendar of these accusations.
“Talking about my team, and the same thing that will happen to him will happen,” shouted Lopes. “You threatened it, you threatened it.” You have threatened a girl and you will pay. “”
Rodriguez replied:
“Do not turn the words.”
