Did Selena Gomez just subtly reignite the Hailey Bieber feud?!

Selena Gomez blows up all the “cool girls”! And maybe throw shade at one in particular…?

THE Only murders in the building star opened to Time in a new interview last week about all sorts of things. But amid the baby talk, we totally missed this potential attack on her longtime rival. Hailey Bieber!

Selly explained that she likes to be friends with “reasonable people” and doesn’t fit in with Hollywood’s traditionally “cool” kids. The 31-year-old told the outlet:

“It’s a cliché, but girls are mean. It’s a very weird competition, being in the cool girl neighborhood – and then I’m just like, there. I don’t know where I’m supposed to belong.

Oh ! Noting that his best friends are a casting director, a producer and a real estate agent, the Disney channel alum added:

“I like having reasonable people who don’t care about what I do.”

THE Soon to be single The singer also opened up about how “hard” it is to deal with loneliness, noting:

“You could be in a crowd of people and still feel alone. I’m still dealing with this.

It doesn’t help that she’s often in rooms with these so-called cool girls – they probably make her feel even more alone! I’m just saying! On the subject of unwanted emotions, like grief, she added:

“You can distract yourself and deny and deny all you want, but it will always be there. I just allow myself to live through these days.

Fortunately, she is now madly in love with Benny Blanco, which appears to be much more than a distraction. Loneliness could therefore be a thing of the past for Selena!

Anyway, that’s the broader context of the comment. But back to the “cool girls” quote. Because we can’t help but wonder if this is a dig at Hailey in particular.

As Perezcious readers know, women have been pitted against each other because of their ties to Justin Bieber. This certainly wouldn’t be the first time a woman hated her husband’s ex. But Hailey and her friends kept going for a long time. Last year, the pregnant model sparked controversy when she and Kylie Jenner (some pretty cool girls) seemed to make fun of Selly’s eyebrows, giving each of them a bad girl reputation. So you can understand why we think of them when Selena says “girls are mean.”

Since then, Hailey and Selena have constantly tried to shut down feud rumors — and yet, they continue to share cryptic comments like this one, which only make the speculation worse!

FWIW, the the Wizards of Waverly Place a former student often spoke of not fitting in with the “cool girls.” For example, when she said Taylor Swift is his “only friend in the industry” – a statement that has had its own fallout. Long story. But that’s all to say, there’s a chance this isn’t a direct dig at Hailey! But given history, it’s hard to deny Rhode The founder plays no role in Sel feeling out of place in the popular crowd! And whether they actively attack each other in public or not, it’s clear that Selena and Hailey are not fans of each other’s personalities at all.
