Warning: Major Spoilers to come for “Daredevil: Born Again”.
“Daredevil: Born de Marvel comes out of the door, killing a key character in the minutes of his first episode in a movement that is sure to shock fans.
The 2025 show is the revival of the “Daredevil” series of Netflix, which featured Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer who has become vigilant who defends the New York district of Hell’s Kitchen.
While the original series flirted with its links with the Marvel cinematographic universe during three seasons before being canceled in 2018, “Born Again” takes place firmly in the same world as the Avengers – which makes the brutal assassination of episode one all the more surprising. Here’s what you need to know.
Elden Henson in the role of Foggy Nelson and Nikki M. James as Kirsten McDuffie in “Daredevil: Born again”. Giovanni Rufino / Marvel Television
The opening scene sees Murdock going to Josie’s bar with his colleagues Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) and Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) for a drink after work. When Nelson takes a phone call outside the bar of a worried client he defends, Murdock is like Daredevil to help.
However, it was a cunning to attract Murdock away from his friends, and Nelson was shot in the chest by a sniper: Bullseye (Wilson Bethel). The assassin does not waste time shooting two police officers who were also at the bar before Daredevil’s return, and a long bloody fight follows between them.
The show plays tension, so much so that Murdock hears the heart rate of his best friend as he bleeds in the street. But is Nelson really dead? Killing it in fact would be a surprising decision, since it is one of the most loved characters in the original Netflix series.
But everything might not be lost, especially if “Daredevil: Born again” follows the comics.
In February 2006, Nelson was killed in “Daredevil” # 82 when he was stabbed to death by detainees while visited an imprisoned murdock, who had been arrested for suspicion of being vigilance in red food.
Because Murdock was locked up, he was helpless to save his best friend except listening to his heart rate when he died.
However, it was a cunning.
Some problems later, in “Daredevil” # 87, it was revealed that the FBI had moved Nelson in the protection of witnesses, where he recovered from his injuries before starting a life under a new identity.
If “Daredevil: Born again” pays tribute to the rigged death of Nelson in the comics, there is a chance that he can return to an episode or a later season.
After all, it would not be the first time that someone was apparently killed or seriously injured before making a return. Bullseye himself was almost murdered by Kingpin (Vincent d’Onofrio) at the end of season three “Daredevil”, and he is still alive and shoots.
