Former Norwich City and Maidstone United midfielder Devonte Aransibia died at the age of 26, confirmed his family.
The Aransibia went through the ranks of young people in Norwich before leaving in 2019 for the Kingstonian non-Ligue outfit, and would continue to play seven other teams before joining Chesham in 2024.
The midfielder born in London played a key role in the memorable race of the Maidstone FA Cup last year, who saw them beat Ipswich Town to do the fifth round under the manager George Elokobi.
He succeeded in a goal and attended his future Chesham club in the first round, triggering the stones on their magic campaign, which ended up brutally against Coventry City.
After his tragic death, Aransibia’s family created a GoFundme page.
A statement said: “It is with a heavy heart that we come together to honor the life of Dev, a loving partner, a devoted father, a darling son and a dear friend so much.

“His contagious laugh and his generous mind brightened each piece in which he entered, leaving a lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to know him.
“Beyond his loving nature, Dev was a talented footballer whose passion and dynamism have propelled him to great success on the field.”
Aransibia had a successful loan spell with Billericay Town before his departure from Norwich, before heading on his way through non-Ligue football that brought him to Potters Bar, RoySton Town, Chelmsford and Welling.
The 26 -year -old started this season with Chesham, but would only make two appearances in the South National League.
He left Welling for Tonbridge in 2022, and the former boss of Aransibia, Jay Saunders, “said:” She is a new devastator. Devonte was just a good person and a very good footballer.
“He was a calm boy but a very nice child. I am just emptied for his family and all the people involved. I’m really emptied.
“You spend a lot of time with these guys and get to know them personally and it’s a new devastating when you hear something like that.

The commentator Matt Eastley also paid tribute, writing: “So, so sad to hear this news. I liked to watch Devonte in several clubs.
