Sam Menzin, an assistant director general of Detroit Tigers, resigned Thursday in the midst of allegations which he sent unlined photographs of his genitals to two former employees of the club.
“After being informed of allegations concerning the driving of Sam Menzin, the club quickly finished an investigation,” said a team spokesman in Dailymail.com in a statement.
“Before the club could end Mr. Menzin, he resigned,” the statement continued. “This type of behavior is contrary to our standards and has absolutely no place within our organization. We have a positive and safe culture for our colleagues and will continue to focus on respect, inclusion and professionalism.
The trading partner of the compliance and the investigation of the Tigers, Danny Rosengard, was in contact with the accusers of Menzin, according to The Athletic, who first reported the alleged misconduct.
Menzin told Athletic by SMS on Friday that he was looking for a career change and that he wanted to move to New York to manage “certain family problems”. However, on Monday, he did not respond to calls and SMS of athletics.
Two women who previously worked for the Tigers told The Athletic that Menzin, 34, had sent them photographs of his genitals via Snapchat, a social media application that automatically removes images once they are seen.

The two women say they have received obscene photographs from Menzin several times since 2017. Meanwhile, a third woman told athletics that she had received a similar text message from Menzin around 2018 or 2019. The third woman works in baseball, but not for tigers, according to The Athletic.
The accusers of Menzin shared their stories with other people who have since relayed these details to athletics.
When asked why the allegedly inappropriate messages from Menzin had not been revealed so far, an employee with the tigers has described a difficult atmosphere for such a denunciator.
“Is it as if nobody said anything because who will believe them when they say that Sam Menzin did this?” She asked. “It’s not like a bat boy or a security guard. It’s Sam Menzin.
“I always felt like I was saying that something was not an option, because who will believe you and do anything?” It’s just that general feeling that (reporting something) was not an option.
