Detroit Lions Rookie Minicamp Overview: 5 things to watch

Friday morning, the Lions of Detroit open their set with three practices of Minicamp Recruue. This will be the first opportunity for media and lions coaches to see the NFL 2025 draft class – plus the 11 UDFA signatures reported – in action at Allen Park.

Here are five things that I will keep an eye on Friday training.

How will Lions use Isaac Teslaa?

Although it may not have been my favorite choice, the aggressive decision of Detroit to select Teslaa at the top of the third round was certainly their most fascinating movement of the recovery weekend. Obviously, Lions have major projects for the former Arkansas receiver. The first question was Teslaa: where will he play? He played mainly out of the university slit, but he has athletic tools to play outside. The director general of Lions, Brad Holmes, said that there was a learning curve to which he would face outside, so Detroit will play everywhere to start, or will he get an intensive course on the WR-X position from the start?

Beyond that, I can’t wait to see what the Lions see in him. Does his ridiculous athletics go beyond immediately? Will we see him pissing out of the half-back like Brad Holmes saw the senior Bowl?

Who will have early jump on the position of the guard?

The lions are included for a very healthy competition with both guard positions. Graham Glasgow, Christian Mahany, and the two have written offensive lines this year – Tate Ratledge in the second round and Miles Frazier in the fifth – all have realistic fire to win one of the two open jobs.

Will we see both Ratledge and Frazier as the starting guards of the Minicamp recruit? If so, which side will everyone play? And will he get a game at the center at the start of their lions career?

It will be difficult to judge the game of one or the other player since the pads are not yet on, but how The Lions use the two players will be notable.

What does the explosiveness of Tyleik Williams look like in person?

Categorize Williams as a pure nose tackle is to make a global game an injustice. Yes, he is one of the best defensive line players defying this year’s class, but almost all those around him delighted his unreal athletics – often seen in his first step.

Again, the line game assessment will be difficult without pads, but I would not be surprised to see Williams out of the group simply because of its explosiveness.

Note: Another minor question is whether Williams will even participate. On Instagram, He documented a rehabilitation of an injury to the hamstrings. So any level of participation would be a good sign.

What lions will stand out as a candidate to list 53 men?

There will not be many spots available on the initial list of 53 men from the Lions, but Friday will be the first opportunity for some of the unlikely recruits to assert their cause. By nature of their position and the vacant posts that the list of Lions can have, I have a look at the tight ends Caden Prieskorn and Zach Horton, the wide Jackson Meeks and Jakobie Keeney-James and Ian Kennelly.

What will / will say Ahmed Hassanein?

It is impossible not to be attracted by Hassanein’s history and personality. You can feel that he is already becoming a favorite of fans.

Will its relentless engine appear on the ground? Does anyone who are so new in the game he looks as raw as Giovanni Manu looked like the last mini recruit? How will his first media session go in person? And what will an interaction between Hassanein and Dan Campbell look like?

Although there is a danger of surprise on a choice of sixth round, Hassanein will be a fascinating story to cover throughout his trip to the Lions, and I am certainly excited to meet him this weekend.
