The Ravens came up short in Sunday’s divisional game against the Bills. But Baltimore accomplished a lot in the 2024 season — the team’s first year with a backcourt tandem of quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry.
After the game, Henry praised Jackson as a player, teammate and leader.
“I came in as a teammate and found a brother,” Henry said, via the team transcript. “Lamar is what keeps this team going, and he’s the reason we still had a chance, so I would tell him the same thing: keep your head up. He’s a Hall of Famer and had a great season.
“It’s a team effort. We failed together. It’s not about him. Forget what anyone else says outside of what we are experiencing. We believe in him and we will always have his back.
Henry, who turned 31 earlier this month, had one of his best seasons in 2024, racking up 1,921 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns in the regular season. He also had 19 catches for 193 yards with two touchdowns.
Henry is under contract through 2025 after signing a two-year, $16 million contract with Baltimore last March.
