Derek Chisora worries about Tyson Fury training camp due to cut ahead of Oleksandr Usyk fight
Derek Chisora claims Tyson Fury’s fight for his next undisputed clash has been affected by the cut he suffered in February.
Fury and Oleksandr Usyk were originally scheduled to face each other on February 17, but their fight was pushed back after the Briton suffered a gash above his right eye in a fight that required 11 stitches.

The cut opened after Fury was caught with an accidental elbow by Croatian heavyweight Agron Smakici in what he later described as a “freak accident”.
Doctors assessed the cut and determined that postponing the fight to May 18 would give the injury ample time to repair.
Still, Chisora believes the problem did not heal properly and raised further concerns about how it could have affected the WBC champion’s camp.
“The last time Tyson was here, he was training and he got cut,” Chisora told TNT Sports.

“I know for a fact that thing didn’t heal properly, he didn’t work out, so he did more cardio.
“I think Oleksandr and his team are going to go for that eye and that eye is going to open in the third or fourth round and then it’s going to start getting crazy.
“On top of that, he doesn’t get along well with lefties.”
Of course, this is pure speculation from a man who didn’t train with Fury before fight night.

However, Chisora brings unique insight after fighting both men in the paid ranks.
“Del Boy” has boxed Fury three times, losing his inaugural encounter in 2011 by unanimous decision and his second and third fights (2014 and 2022) by distance.
Meanwhile, he was also Usyk’s first real test at heavyweight when they faced him in the Ukrainian’s second fight in the glamor division four years ago.
Despite a good start, he was finally overtaken over the distance and lost on points.
Earlier this year, Chisora and Usyk got together for a sauna session.
When asked what kind of headspace the former undisputed cruiserweight champion was in when they shared time together, Chisora replied: “This guy is crazy.
“Let me explain something to you, Tyson is not crazy, Usyk is crazier than Tyson.
“Everything he does is to the death. For example, if you remember when he boxed in Saudi Arabia against AJ.
“If you remember, his manager was saying, ‘We don’t know how to stop him because right now he’s riding his bike in Dubai and he’s doing 100km in the sun.’
“Is he a normal person? He’s a crazy person. You can imagine what he went through in training.
“I was talking to some guys and they were saying his training had gone crazy, he couldn’t stop.
“I want the Briton to win, but he has to do everything possible (to achieve it).”
