Deputy Bothorel announces the definitive cessation of sand extraction in the bay of Lannion – Lannion | Breaking News Updates

In a press release published this Friday, the deputy for the Lannion-Paimpol constituency, Éric Bothorel, welcomes the definitive abandonment of the sand extraction projects in the bay of Lannion by the Compagnie armoricaine de navigation. The mining company sent a letter to this effect to the Finistère prefecture last November, even though procedures are still in progress.

For the past ten years, this mining project has met with strong opposition from the population and many elected officials in the sector. Deemed legal in January 2021, mining was the subject of an appeal filed with the Council of State in February of the same year. For Éric Bothorel: “This is the epilogue of a long fight during which the population of Trégorroise, environmental and sports associations, local elected officials and parliamentarians will have demonstrated, tirelessly, responsible mobilization”.
