Denise Richards’ ex, Aaron Phypers, was arrested out of court on Friday on charges of “domestic violence” amid their ongoing divorce battle.
The 54-year-old television personality and her ex-husband both appeared at a Los Angeles court hearing where Phypers was arrested by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies.
A lawyer for Richards told Us Weekly that her ex was arrested for “domestic violence.”
An eyewitness described the moment to the outlet and said Phypers was “arrested outside the court and taken to a nearby escalator.” (He) did not return to (the) hallway.
Richards was also at the courthouse at the time and remained “calm” while conversing with “her team.”
Another witness said Phypers seemed “confused” by the arrest and did not appear to know he would be taken into custody by police.
An attorney for Phypers, Michael Finley, has since commented on the arrest and told TMZ that he was taken into custody due to an “outstanding arrest warrant” that has a possible connection to Richards’ abuse allegations.

Finley claimed Phypers had no knowledge of any warrants and also accused Richards and his legal team of “setting him up.”
Daily Mail contacted representatives for Phypers and Richards for comment, but did not immediately receive a response.
The estranged couple both appeared in court Friday for a restraining order hearing, with Richards’ final testimony taking place after a lunch break.
An eyewitness also told Us Weekly that at that point, eight police officers were seen standing outside the courtroom.
The hearing and Richards’ temporary restraining order were extended until November 7.
In July, Phypers filed for divorce from Richards and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation, with the separation date set for July 4, 2025.
That same month, Richards was granted a temporary restraining order just days after filing for divorce.
The actress – who was previously married to Charlie Sheen – also claimed that Phypers gave her three concussions and that her marriage to Sheen went better.

It was also revealed Friday in court documents obtained by TMZ that Phypers asked for half of the income his estranged wife received from OnlyFans.
He claimed the TV personality earned between $200,000 and $300,000 every month from the photos she uploaded to the site.
Phypers explained the reason for his request and explained that he took the photos she shared with OnlyFans.
He further alleged that he was in financial difficulty and needed money to pay his rent and pay other bills.
It was previously reported that Phypers was demanding $150,000 from his estranged wife to pay her rent and her lawyers, leaving her furious.
While they were husband and wife, he had access to their joint accounts – which he claims he no longer has access to.

During a hearing regarding a temporary restraining order she was granted against Phypers in July — which she wants to make permanent — she claimed he “caused me at least three concussions,” People reported.
In one incident that the actress says occurred at a Chicago hotel in April 2025, Phypers “squeezed my head so hard” that it “felt like he was crushing my skull.”
She also claimed that her tumultuous marriage to Sheen was better because, proverbially, “he never hit below the belt.”
The artist was granted a temporary restraining order on July 16, days after Phypers filed for divorce.
A source close to him later claimed that the Wild Things actress and his legal team were “spewing fiction” and that he “plans to emerge victorious from this domestic violence protection order.”

In the clip, she compared their six-year marriage to her previous union with Sheen, whom she was married to from 2002 to 2005 and with whom she shares daughters Sami, 21, and Lola, 20.
“Things were bad between Charlie and I, but he never hit below the belt,” she said.
In addition to her daughters with Sheen, the actress is also mother to adopted daughter Eloise, 14.
Phypers claimed to have discovered that Richards was having a months-long affair with a former special forces soldier named Rudy Reyes when their relationship ended.
He claimed in a detailed letter to “her family and close friends” that Rudy showered her with X-rated photos and videos, including a graphic clip showing him naked and pleasuring himself.
In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, he claimed to have learned of his wife’s alleged affair in April.

After Phypers filed divorce papers on July 7, Richards fired back a week later with a request for a temporary restraining order that included a long list of domestic violence allegations — all of which her husband denies.
Richards began dating Phypers in 2017 and the ex-couple married the following year in a ceremony in Malibu.
