The veteran of the soap opera Denise Alexander, better known as the Lesley Webber in “General Hospital” and Susan Hunter Martin on “Days of Our Lives”, died on March 5. His death has only been revealed now.
“I am really sorry to learn the death of Denise Alexander. She broke the barriers on the screen and out of the screen, representing Dr. Lesley Webber – one of the first women’s doctors on day television – for almost five decades,” said executive producer “GH” Frank Valentini on social media. “It was so much meant to make her resume his role in recent years and I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with her.

Alexander’s acting career dates back to the early 1950s when she made her Broadway debut in “The Children’s Hour” and the guest played in television classics such as “Father Knows Best”, “The Twilight Zone” and “The Danny Kaye Show”, 1960 was the year that changed her career Soap CBS, “The Clear Horizon”.
Two years later, she was a day game in an ABC soap pilot called “Emergency Hospital”, which later became “general hospital” – but not like Lesley Webber. Instead, she was interpreted as Susan Martin on “Days of Our Lives” in 1966, where she planted her roots for the next seven years. When she chose to leave extremely popular soap in 1973, fans were not happy.
It was then that Alexander joined “GH”. The notes were not the best during this period, and ABC sought to add new fascinating characters and stories. Lesley d’Alexander has become a corner of one of the hottest triangles of the day – Lesley, Rick Webber (played by Chris Robinson) and Monica Bard (played by the late Leslie Charleson, who died earlier this year). Lesley was also up to her ears in difficulty because she admitted the murder of David Hamilton, a crime that her daughter Laura (genius Francis) committed. His game earned Alexandre an Emmy nomination for the exceptional actress in a dramatic day series.
When the scenario asked that Lesley be killed in a car accident, fans were again indignant. It was not until 12 years later in 1996 that it was revealed that – like soap, Lesley was in fact alive. Between the two soaps, Alexander appeared on NBC’s “Another World”, working in front of his former “GH” husband, Robinson.
Alexander appeared for the last time at “General Hospital” in 2021.
