Democrat charged with large-scale voter fraud in Philadelphia

Attorney General and Governor-elect Josh Shapiro has accused a Democratic campaign consultant of “massive” voter fraud.

Here is the relevant information from the Attorney General’s office:

Attorney General Josh Shapiro today announced the arrest of Rasheen Crews, a Philadelphia political consultant, on charges related to forging signatures on nomination petitions to register his clients for the 2019 Democratic primary elections in Philadelphia.

“Ahead of the 2023 municipal elections, this arrest is an important reminder that interfering with the integrity of our elections is a serious crime,” AG Shapiro said. “By soliciting and organizing the large-scale forgery of signatures, the defendant undermined the democratic process and the right of Philadelphians to a free and fair election. My office is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the electoral process throughout the Commonwealth, to ensure that everyone can participate in Pennsylvania’s future.

Crews allegedly forged “thousands of signatures” to allow his clients to put their names on the ballot for some local 2019 Democratic primary races.

The petitions reportedly had over a thousand duplicate signatures. Some of the pages have been photocopied and reused as separate pages. Some people whose names appeared on the petitions said they never signed.

Thus, Crews is now charged with “criminal solicitation to commit forgery and theft by failing to make the required arrangements”.

What a stupid, lazy crime to commit.

Collecting signatures that qualify you (or your client) to appear on a ballot is not that difficult. I did, and hardly anyone says no if you ask. It’s just about gathering supporters and going where the people are. If you’re going to pay people to tamper with a petition, why not pay them to collect legal signatures?

You see, it’s about being a democrat and believing that you can be above the law because you’re a democrat. The fact that you are a democrat tells democrats that they can do whatever they want because they are virtuous, which means that whatever they do is virtuous simply because they do it.

And don’t be happy about a Democrat politician accusing a Democrat here. Remember, that guy from Crews is accused of cheating in a Democratic primary. That means he fooled the Democrats. If he had deceived the Republicans, Shapiro would have done nothing.
