Delhi Lok Sabha 2024 exit poll results: BJP expected to sweep Delhi, Congress-AAP likely to face setback

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to win all seven seats in the national capital, according to News18 Poll Hub’s Mega Exit poll for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Saturday (June 1). According to polls, the NDA alliance could obtain between 5 and 7 seats, the INDIA bloc, for its part, will probably obtain only 0 to 2 seats.

Delhi, known for its high-stakes elections, is characterized by a three-way fight between the BJP, AAP and Congress. With seven seats in the Lok Sabha, Delhi has significant electoral importance among the Union Territories.

For the AAP, led by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, this election is a crucial test. A victory, especially if the AAP-Congress alliance achieves some victories, would mark a significant achievement amid the current challenges and incarceration of leaders.

Equally crucial for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), this election heralds a new beginning, with the party fielding all new candidates, with the exception of Manoj Tiwari.

Voters’ main concerns relate to employment, labor, public order and corruption. Public order issues, particularly concerning women, as well as unemployment, emerged as decisive factors influencing voter sentiment.

The exit poll results are consistent with earlier predictions from the News18 opinion poll conducted in March, which predicted the BJP would win all seven seats.

The News18 Poll Hub exit poll covered 95,000 voters across 518 Lok Sabha seats in 21 states.

Delhi’s election journey was held in a single phase on May 25, coinciding with the sixth phase of elections, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4.
