On the night of January 4 to 5, 61 drones were shot down over Russia, according to the Ministry of Defense. More than half were intercepted over the Rostov region, the army said.
The Russian army announced that it had shot down 61 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory on the night of January 4-5.
According to the ministry’s statement, published on its Telegram channel, most of the aircraft (37) were destroyed over the Rostov region, 20 over the Bryansk region, two over the region from Voronezh, one over the Belgorod region and one over the Oryol region.
Early in the morning, on his Telegram channel, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported that buildings and cars had been damaged in several localities by drone strikes. According to initial information, there were no casualties.
The head of the Rostov region, Yuri Sliousar, said houses and cars were damaged by falling drone debris in Taganrog and the village of Novobessergenovka. The head of the Bryansk region also reported that “there were no casualties or destruction.”
Russian Defense announces daily the destruction of Ukrainian drones over Russian regions. Thus, during the night of January 3 to 4, 16 drones were shot down over the country’s territory, the ministry announced.
