Deepak Punia won his third silver medal in the Asian championship and the fifth in the general classification while Udit was satisfied with his second successive finalist at the continental event on the day of the event, Amman (Jordan) on Sunday.

Punia, 25, who could not qualify for the Paris Olympic Games, began her return with a difficult competition against Bekzat Rakhimov in the 92 kg category. He faced a strong resistance from his Kyrgyzstan rival but prevailed 12-7 in the quarter-final in high score.

Takashi Ishiguro of Japan was supposed to be a difficult rival, but Deepak surpassed it to comfortably win 8-1.

In the fight of the gold medal against Iran’s world number one, Amirhossein B Firouzpourbandpei, Deepak lost the first point to go out. He barely moved in the first two minutes of the opening period, conceding two additional points on the withdrawal.

The silver medalist in the 2019 world championship remained on the defense throughout and continued to lose the point after having undergone a tamed defeat by the technical superiority at the end.

Deepak had won the silver medal at the Asian championships in 2021 (Almaty) and 2022 (Ulaanbaatar) apart from the sagging of bronze in 2019 and 2020.

Udit (61 kg) Blanchi Wanhao Zou 2-0 from China after planning 9-6 against Bekbolot Myrzanzar Uulu from Kyrgyzstan.

In the start of the gold medal, the world number one Takara Suda began with a single leg attack, pushing Udit to open the scoring in a whirlwind. Suda again attacked Udit’s right leg and converted this into a two -point drop.

Udit also attempted a leg attack, but Suda put it in a headache.

During the second period, Udit made an offensive to target Suda’s legs twice and also obtained Sada’s right ankle in her hands, but the Japanese were superb in his defense, never allowing India to convert these movements to points. He did not miss his chance to get another two-point pointer for an advance of 5-1.

With only 11 seconds to go, Suda had completely lost steam, but Udit could only obtain three points, losing 4-6 possibly.

Udit was also satisfied with a silver medal last year.

Mukul Dahiya had an excellent opportunity to win a bronze after having recorded two impressive victories to reach the semi-finals, but he will return empty-handed.

Weng Luen Gary Chow by Singapore was an easy prey for Dahiya, who won by technical superiority and without losing a point and then beat the world number two Mukhammad Abdullaev from Kirghiztan 3-1.

In the semi-finals, he was mastered by the world number three of Iran, Abolfazl Y.RAHMANI FIROUZJAEI, who won by technical superiority.

Later in bronze playoffs, he lost 2-4 against Tatsuya Shirai in Japan.

In competition in heavy classes of 125 kg, Dinesh has outraged Buheeerdun from China to gain technical superiority in the quarter-final, but Mongoli Lkhagvagerel Mongkhtur beat him in the 5-1 semi-finals.

In the bronze qualifiers against Saparov Zyyamuhammet of Turkmenistan, Dinesh led a superb battle in the second period after being down 0-6 in the first.

His rival, which suffered from bleeding from his nose, did not have endurance. Without several judgments due to bleeding, he could have extinguished early. Dinesh won 14-12.

Jaideep Ahlawat (74 kg), however, was ousted from the competition early. He found a Japanese opponent hard to Hikaru Takata in his opening fight, in which he set up a courageous resistance but lost 5-10.

India ended with 10 championship medals.
