The star of “The Wolverine” Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness officially separate two years after announcing a friendly separation.
Furness filed the documents on Friday in New York.
All deposits have been treated and only the signing of a judge is required to finalize the divorce. A Furness representative did not immediately respond to an email asking for comments on Tuesday.
“Our trip is now changing and we have decided to separate to continue our individual growth,” said the former couple in a joint statement. The co-signed release, published for the first time for people in September 2023, added that the two were “blessed” for sharing nearly three decades together in a “wonderful and loving marriage”.
“Our family has been and will always be our highest priority. We are undertaking this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness,” they added. “We greatly appreciate your understanding of our intimacy while our family sails in this transition in all our lives.”
Jackman, star of “Logan” and “Les Misérables”, has since been linked to his co-star of “Music Man” Sutton Foster.
Furness, 69 years old, and Jackman, 56, initially married in 1996 and share two children. They adopted their son, Oscar, in 2000 before announcing the birth of their daughter, Ava, in 2005.
“My children constantly remember the luck we have in our family,” said Jackman People In 2018. “We are ridiculously blessed. We live in a beautiful house in places that others dream of.”
The last public appearance of the pair together took place in the Wimbledon men’s final in July 2023. Before that, they were seen on the Met Gala red carpet in May of the same year.
Jackman’s representatives did not respond to the request for Times comments.
