Deauville Festival: engine! | The Telegram

The opening ceremony of the Deauville Festival took place in the presence of a host of stars. The film “The Queen’s Game” by Karim Aïnouz was screened for this 49th edition, whose jury is chaired by Guillaume Canet.

Around the French actor and director, eight personalities were chosen as jurors, including novelist Anne Berest, actresses Rebecca Marder and Marina Hands (from the Comédie-Française), actor Stéphane Bak, directors and screenwriters Léa Mysius and Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre, as well as filmmaker Alexandre Aja. The singer and musician Yodelice, who has signed the music for many films by Guillaume Canet, completes this 2023 jury.
14 films are in official competition.

The 96-year-old American photographer, director and screenwriter, Jerry Schatzberg (above), was the guest of honor at the opening ceremony.
