Victor Wembanyama has a new leader: De’Aaron Fox is out of Sacramento and heads for San Antonio.
Fox is one of the centerpieces of a profession agreed by three teams, one that sends the double All-Star Zach Lavine from Chicago to Sacramento, Zach Collins from San Antonio to Chicago and Kevin Huerter from Kings to Bulls, two people with Knowledge of discussions on Sunday evening.
People have spoken to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the trade has not followed the league approval process and can only be finalized this.
Still in the trade, according to people who spoke at AP: Jordan McLaughlin passes from Sacramento to Spurs, Sidy Cissoko passes Spurs to Kings and Tre Jones leaves the Spurs for Chicago. There is also a multitude of recovery of capital in the agreement, with Sacramento which was to obtain at least three choices of the first round, said one of the people.
The NBA commercial deadline is Thursday afternoon. This three -team agreement was agreed the same day that the superb affair sending Luka Doncic Mavericks in Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis have been announced.
The addition of Fox is enormous for spurs. Wembanyama – The prevailing recruit of the year – continues its climb to the superstom. He should make his debut in the star match later this month, is one of the favorites to win the defensive player of the year and will probably get MVP votes.
It is not surprising that Fox, who is eligible for extension this summer, wanted to come to the Spurs: playing alongside one of the best centers of the game, a 4 -inch 4 inch force for which most Defenses have no answer, would call on any leader of the game.
Fox has an average of 25 points, 6.1 assists and five rebounds per game this season for the Kings. He was an All-Star and an All-NBA player, and now in his eighth season can start alongside Wembanyama again.
And the Spurs did this without abandoning a large part of their abundant absence of recourse choice or the keys to their young nucleus – players like the recruit Stephon Castle, Jeremy Sochan and Keldon Johnson. Spurs also kept veterans Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes, both in the first year with San Antonio.
It is also a new start for Lavine – in a way. He goes to Sacramento, where he will be found with the former teammate of the Bulls Demar Derozan and should play alongside a permanent all-NBA candidate in Domantas Sabonis.
Lavine is on average 24 points per game this season, putting it on average at least as many points for the fifth time. He is a scorer of 20.7 points per game for his career after stays with Minnesota and Bulls.
Huerter has an average of 11.5 points in his career, first with Atlanta and then with the Kings. He will also benefit from a new start after leaving the bench 28 times in 43 appearances with Sacramento this season.
Collins collected an average of 4.6 points for the Spurs, Jones collected an average of 4.4 points and Cissoko 1.3 points in 17 appearances with San Antonio. McLaughlin collected an average of 1.9 points in 28 games for the Kings.
