David Sacks, the AI of the White House and the Czar Crypto, is an ardent supporter of Doge’s work to reduce the size of the American government.
But an area which, according to him, could use more resources, is in a unreleased federal agency, the office of industry and security, which applies export controls on American manufacturing chips.
During the Podcast All-In Friday episode, Sacks said that China continues to get their hands on the United States regulated fleas despite export controls.
“I think that clearly screens, front companies, are created by the Chinese government or entities in China to escape export controls, because they want fleas,” said Sacks.
The American government has implemented restrictions and rules concerning China’s ability to obtain American semiconductors, including those of Nvidia. NVIDIA said on Wednesday that it expects a charge of several billion dollars due to a license obligation to send H20 fleas to China.
The White House advisor added that another problem is that Western companies will ignore where their tokens will end.
“I think there are a lot of Western societies that will seem in the other direction or will make the idea that eyes and simply did not apply the rules as religiously as they should, because it is profitable not to do it,” he said. “This is where I think the American government must be quite difficult.”
Sacks said there should be a repression against gaps that companies can use to send their fleas abroad, and more surveillance and inspection.
According to Sacks, this would require more resources for the Office of Industry and Security, which is under the competence of the Ministry of Commerce.
Sacks said he thought that the agency was “in sub-employment compared to the importance” of the application of export controls.
“It is one of the few areas of government which, in my opinion, needs more resources,” said Sacks.
A spokesperson for the BIS did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
