David Moss named new superintendent at Clinton-Massie

CLARKSVILLE — The Clinton-Massie Local Schools Board has selected David Moss to become the district’s next superintendent, effective August 1.

Moss will replace Matt Baker, who recently resigned as district superintendent. Baker served the district as superintendent for seven years.

“The Clinton-Massie Local Schools Board looks forward to working with Mr. Moss as superintendent and moving the district forward,” board chairman Jeremy Lamb said in a news release. “Mr. Moss has been with the district for six years, starting in a technology capacity and moving closer to student success while taking on administrative duties at the district level for the past few years. The board appreciates Mr. Moss’ knowledge day-to-day functions of the district, his relationships with staff, and his familiarity with the district’s strategic plan.The board looks forward to working with Mr. Moss, the district administration team, and our dedicated staff to close the student achievement gaps and keeping local Clinton-Massie schools on track with our strategic plan.CMLSD has a very high bar for what we consider success, and the Board of Directors believes that Mr. Moss can lead our district, setting the bar of success to new heights.

Moss said, “I am both incredibly excited and deeply humbled to accept the role of the next superintendent of local Clinton-Massie schools. It is an honor and a privilege to have been chosen by the School Board to fulfill this important role, and I am grateful for the trust they have placed in me. I look forward to working collaboratively with parents, teachers, staff, students, and community partners to ensure the continued growth and success of every student in our district.

The Southern Ohio Educational Service Center assisted the local Clinton-Massie School Board in their search for a superintendent to lead the district.
