They never got over it.

A resurfaced video pits Katharine McPhee’s fans against her husband, David Foster.

The video, which went viral on TikTok and has since sparked countless response videos, is from a concert of the couple’s first show together.

During the show, McPhee, 40, can be seen speaking into the microphone, telling the crowd how she first met Foster, 74, when she appeared on Season 5 of “American Idol.” in 2006. Taylor Hicks ultimately won her season, which also included Chris Daughtry and the late Mandisa.

She met her future husband: “When I was a chubby, happy little contestant on ‘American Idol,’ look at me smiling,” she told the crowd, pointing to an old photo of herself on a big screen behind her.

“Oh yeah, you were fat,” Foster replied, as the audience laughed.

“I was a little chubby, okay? I was just young,” she replied.

“This is really terrible. Especially in front of so many people. I want to cry for her,” one fan wrote on TikTok.

“This hurt my heart. This beautiful girl has NEVER been fat. You don’t call your wife fat. As a joke or seriously,” a second person commented.

“If he can say that in front of a crowd, imagine the insensitive comments in private 😳😳Yolanda’s comments kinda make sense now,” one fan criticized, referring to Foster’s ex-wife Yolanda Hadid.

The Grammy-winning record producer and McPhee married in 2019 and welcomed a son in 2021.

Prior to McPhee, Foster was married four times, including to Hadid (from 2011 to 2017), the mother of models Gigi and Bella Hadid, making him their stepfather during that time.

“I know Bella and Gigi went through this in this house, oh my God God bless them,” another commenter wrote on TikTok.

“He threw Yolanda in the trash as soon as she fell, gained a little weight and showed slight signs of aging. It was so cruel,” another user wrote.

McPhee has spoken out about her eating disorder and bulimia before. The singer and actress told ABC News that her bulimia got “really out of control” around 2005, when she auditioned for “American Idol.” She eventually entered treatment through an intensive inpatient program.

She also opened up about her struggles with her mental health after gaining weight during pregnancy.

In 2021, she told Dr. Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy podcast that “the biggest challenge” during her pregnancy “was really the body issues.”

“It came up suddenly, in a way that hadn’t been there in a long time,” McPhee said.

She added: “Feeling like I had a relapse after getting pregnant was really shocking, upsetting and worrying for me, because I was suddenly so obsessed with food, starting in that first trimester, and I I had such a distortion of my appearance. »

McPhee said she even contacted her former psychiatrist, who told her “it’s very common for women who have struggled with eating disorders in the past to almost experience a relapse, in some sense, when they become pregnant.

She described her pregnancy experience with food cravings this way: “It’s like, ‘Is this just the eating disorder version of me or is it really my body?’… Suddenly the signals seemed really different and I didn’t know how to interpret them,” she said. “When I ate, I felt really full and it was very confusing (and) someone who thought I understood about eating issues (suddenly felt like I didn’t understand anything). »

She added: “I have a lot of anxiety. But I got through it and I’m really grateful to get to the end (and) to feel this good and look in the mirror and say, “Yes, my legs, my thighs, my arms are a little thicker, but that suits me.” »
