David and Samantha Cameron enjoyed a day at the races today as they supported former assistant turned jockey Isabel Spearman at Newbury.
Spearman, who was Samantha Cameron’s assistant when her husband was Prime Minister, has won The Injured Jockeys Fund charity race in Newbury.
Although David Cameron’s term as Prime Minister ended after choosing the wrong side in the EU referendum, the odds were in his favor today as he bet his friend Spearman would win .

The former Prime Minister looked on in a navy blazer while his wife Samantha wore a red dress
The former Tory leader said the day was “absolutely wonderful”.
“She’s a very old friend and we came to cheer her on,” he told the Racing Post. “We didn’t know she was going to win, but luckily my wife told me to bet, so happy days.”
He gazed out into the glorious sunshine with a pair of red binoculars, matching his wife’s dress made by Cefinn, Samantha Cameron’s clothing brand.
While Spearman worked for Samantha Cameron, she was in charge of her diary and helped choose her outfits.
Spearman said his horse today was “amazing and I was very lucky to ride him.”
The race she won today raised £50,000 for charity.
