Daniel Levy reportedly admits Harry Kane buyout clause at Tottenham fans event

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has reportedly revealed that a buyout clause was included in the deal that saw Harry Kane sign for Bayern Munich.

After becoming Spurs’ top scorer last season, the 30-year-old swapped the English capital for Munich this summer.

Kane signed for the Bundesliga champions in a deal worth £100million, the club’s most expensive signing ever.

He could have spent a final year in north London and gone for free next summer, but chose to move this summer.

Given his age, he still has a chance to return in the future, and that could be made even more possible with a buyout clause.

At a fan forum on Tuesday evening, President Levy reportedly said: “There is a buyout clause.”

Kane has scored 280 goals in 435 appearances in all competitions for Spurs, including 32 in his final season.

He certainly hasn’t lost his impressive goalscoring ability since arriving in Germany, having scored four times in his first five games.

Ahead of Bayern’s Champions League clash against Manchester United, live on talkSPORT, reports claim Kane preferred a decision over the latter.

The striker also appears to still be paying attention to his former club, who have so far shone under new boss Ange Postecoglou.

“As far as Tottenham are concerned, it’s a fantastic start,” he said on Tuesday. “I always keep an eye on them. I think I will always keep an eye on Tottenham for the rest of my life.

“I’m really happy to see the team play the way they do and of course to see their fans happy too, it’s a great feeling.

“I’m sure they’ll be happy to continue this momentum.” They have a huge game [away at Arsenal] coming up so yeah for sure I’ll see how they do over the course of the season.
