Dani Alves’s wife Joana Sanz brought social media to publish an answer to the news that the former Barcelona star was sensitive to rape a woman in a Catalan nightclub after having attracted her four -year prison mandate.
The footballer was sentenced in February of last year after three judges found him guilty of the sexual attack after a three -day trial.
The prosecutors appealed and called to be imprisoned for nine years while the private prosecutors acting on behalf of the complainant asked that he be imprisoned for 12 years after also challenging the initial conviction and the prison sentence.
On Friday, the Catalan high court rejected calls – and acquitted alves of the crime which it was sentenced last year.
The decision of the Catalan high court was announced in a 101 -page written document which indicated: “It cannot be concluded that the limits of the presumption of innocence have been exceeded”.
Alves – has been on bond since March of last year – said through his lawyer Ines Guardiola today during his first reaction to the news of his rape acquittal that he was “very happy”.

Throughout his trial, he faced an acrimonious separation from his wife, the 32 -year -old model Sanz. However, it has never been confirmed that they had suffered a divorce.
After initially supported her husband, their relationship quickly deteriorated, ended with the track model publishing a triumphant selfie in the moments after being sentenced to four and a half years behind bars.
However, they seemed to be reconciled after her surety and she now published a long message on her Instagram story in response to Saturday news.
“They pointed out fingers on me, insulted me, threatened me and persecuted me for two years. As if I were the quay, “she wrote alongside a selfie.
“Despite so many media and public damage, I am still standing, without missing work because many would have liked to happen, faithful to my beliefs and defend what I think without being poisoned by others.
“I invite you to stop stealing your hatred on people you don’t know at all, to document yourself and to educate yourself, so that you don’t have to bite your language that sometimes poisons.
After Friday’s verdict, Ines Guardiola added that “justice was finally done”.
To say the Catalan Rac-1 radio station, she was still convinced that he would be allowed, she added: “Of course, that was what we were waiting for.
“Dani Alves is innocent and it has been shown. We are very happy and very excited.

Prosecutors have a final call that they can deposit – at the Supreme Court of Spain. It is not immediately clear this morning if they will try to overthrow it, but they should do it.
Alves protested against his innocence on February 7 of last year after taking a position on the last day of his three -day trial, saying that the sex he had with his 23 -year -old accuser was consensual and insisted that he would never hurt anyone.
The woman he was found guilty of rape insisted that he had forced herself after hitting her when she gave his testimony to the court behind a screen.
The appeal judges ruled that the accuser of Dani Alves was an “unreliable complainant”, as shown in video evidence and the fact that she denied a sexual act which had been corroborated “with a great probability” by DNA tests.
They added: “It cannot be concluded that the standards required by the presumption of innocence have been respected.
“The decision of the Court of First Instance uses the term credibility as synonymous with reliability in its analysis, and this is not the case.
“Credibility corresponds to a subjective belief, which cannot be verified, associated with the person who makes the declaration. Reliability, on the other hand, concerns the declaration itself.
