Professional dancer Witney Carson has announced that she will not be returning for Dancing with the stars Season 32.
In a video shared on TikTok over the weekend, the dancer said, “It wasn’t a decision we took lightly. We’ve certainly thought and prayed about it for a while, but we won’t. Dancing with the stars this season.”
Carson explained that she “felt very at peace” with her decision to stay at her home in Florida where she lives with her husband, Carson McAllister, and their two young children, Leo and Jet.
“You know family is the most important thing to me, and we really felt that moving our whole family across the country right now wasn’t for us,” she said. “Leo is at an age where he needs consistency and reliability, and he hasn’t had that since birth. We’re really trying to give him that right now.
The dancer maintained that it was not a permanent movement. But she will leave the show on a high after placing third last season with Wayne Brady.
“It was definitely a tough decision,” she said. “But I will be supporting everyone on the show, I can’t wait to watch. I’m really excited. I really think this is just a break. I hope this isn’t a goodbye. But for now, we’ll be their first cheerleader to watch. Love you guys.”
She’s not the only one not coming back for DWTS Season 32.
Dancer Lindsay Arnold recently announced she won’t be returning for the new season, and longtime actor Mark Ballas retired earlier this year after winning season 31 with Charli D’Amelio.
But Season 32 is still shaping up to be a great season. Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix and the bacheloretteIt is Charity Lawson is confirmed to compete this year.
The rest of this season’s contestants will be announced on September 13 on hello america.
A release date for Dancing with the stars Season 32 has yet to be confirmed, but it will continue to air at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and stream on Disney+. New episodes will also premiere on Hulu the following day.
