Oliveira has just fighted night performance against Michael Chandler at UFC 309 last November. During his reign from 2021 to 2022, Oliveira successfully defended the title with a third -round submission on Dustin Poirier. The former featherweight champion Ilia Topuria is fresh out of consecutive blows and the defense of the title against Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway. The UFC 317 would mark the return of Spanish to a light weight for the first time since its victory in 2022 KB against Jai Herbert.
The Co-Princhipal event will see the Champion of the Mouches Mouches Alexandre Pantoja colliding with the Kai Kara-France impactful. Pantoja enters the fight on a tear of 7 fights, with his last three outings being successful title defenses on Kai Asakura, Steve Erceg and Brandon Royval. Kara-France comes out of a quick TKO on Erceg and will aim to make the most of her second crack at the UFC Gold. His first title opportunity occurred in 2022, when he fought Brandon Moreno for the temporary title of fly weights.
