The co-founder of Industry Entertainment, Dan Spilo, was ousted by the company.
Spilo was dismissed from the production of the film “Runner” after an HR survey for inappropriate behavior which would have include intimidation and the shouts on the crew, according to sources. He was sent home in Queensland, Australia, which takes place last week after the investigation.
The remaining three partners in industry entertainment provided a declaration to Variety: “The entertainment industry is committed to providing a safe and respectful work environment. We take the recent allegations of inappropriate conduct very seriously on the set of the film “Runner” linked to Dan Spilo, and conducts an in -depth investigation. The industry partners asked him to move away from the company, and he agreed to do so, with immediate effect. ”
The declaration continues: “In terms of policy and practice, the entertainment of industry has no tolerance for harassment, mistreatment or misconduct – without the position or mandate of the individual. Our commitment to a safe, respectful and inclusive environment applies to everyone, without exception.
The star of “Reacher” Alan Ritchson and actor Kal Penn separated from Spilo as a manager following allegations.
“I take full responsibility for my actions and I reject myself to focus on my mental health. During production, I was warned that I had a nervous breakdown, but I continued to cross, which was a mistake,” Spilo said in a press release provided to Variety. “My behavior was unacceptable and unrecognizable for me and although there is no excuse, I have committed to understanding and solving the personal problems that led me here. For 25 years, I have devoted myself to protection, to support and guide my clients and even if I do not expect that I am not better than this moment does not define. ”
Spilo was a producer in “Runner”, in which Ritchson Co-Stars with Owen Wilson, with Scott Wash in the direction. The independent production is written by Tommy White and Miles Hubley of their 2023 black list script.
Producers include Todd Garner from Broken Road Productions, Mark Fasano from Nickel City Pictures and Jeffrey Greenstein of a higher standard. Executive producers are Lauren Gennawey for Brokenroad and Matthew Goldberg for Nickel City.
In 2019, Spilo competed on “Survivor: Island of the Idols” and was withdrawn from the game after a candidate and a crew member accused her of touching inappropriate.
Spilo has produced credits on films like “Uglies”, “Seberg” and “Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj”.
The news of Spilo’s departure from industry entertainment was reported for the first time by the Hollywood Reporter.
