Campbell said it would “absolutely” hurt the team to lose Johnson and Glenn and that he would be “eternally grateful” for their contributions, but that the Lions “cannot allow” these changes to derail what ‘they have built over the last few years. a few years. Campbell said he is confident that he will “find the next, best guys for us.”
“We have guys on our team that are more than qualified to be exceptional in those roles, but that doesn’t mean I’m not looking outside, either,” Campbell said. “I want what I believe to be as close as possible to what we have been. We do not lose who we are and our identity. We will stay true to who we are.
Campbell said he’s not going to go on a “mad rush” to install new coordinators and said quarterback Jared Goff will have a say in the offensive end’s choice to ensure that there be as little upset as possible for a team that still believes its championship window is wide open.
