Dan Campbell: Detroit will be the loudest place the Commanders have played

Lions coach Dan Campbell says his defense will benefit from home-field advantage against the Commanders on Saturday.

“You can be in noisy environments – ours will be the loudest we’ve had all year,” Campbell said. “How does this affect them? It only takes one for something to go wrong and end this streak or for something to come of it. It’s everything you’re looking for. It’s everything you hope for. So I’m glad we’re home, I can’t wait to hear this crowd, we know they’re behind us and it’s going to be electric.

Campbell said one of the reasons he wanted to become a head coach in Detroit is because he knew there was a local fan base that was desperate for the Lions to put a winner on the field.

“He’s a sleeping giant for football,” Campbell said. “It’s a sports town and to make everyone feel like they’re a part of it, this is our team and they’re representing us.”

Detroit is the only city that has had an NFL team every year since the first Super Bowl, without ever reaching the Super Bowl. Fans know that this year’s team has the best chance to succeed of any team they’ve ever seen. And they’re ready to be a part of it on Saturday.
