Damon Wayans wrote a sincere thank you to the distribution, the creatives and the crew of Poppa’s house, After the news of its cancellation Tuesday after a season on CBS.
“The creation of Poppas House was such a beautiful trip,” wrote Wayans in an article on Instagram alongside a distribution photo (you can see below). “My heart is full because I say thank you to each person who has made the house of Poppa such a significant experience. For the incredible casting, you have brought so much heart, soul and joy to each scene. It was an absolute honor to share the screen with you and create something special together. House.
“A very special thank you to my son, Damon Jr. working next to you was one of the greatest joys of my life,” he continued. “And to my incredible family, brothers and sisters, children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who presented themselves as writers, guest stars and creative forces, you made this trip even more significant. It is such a blessing to have so much love on a single whole and to be able to create and laugh with family and friends.
“Although Poppa’s house is coming to an end, I refer to deep gratitude, friendships for life and unforgettable memories. This show gave me more than I could never have imagined.
“To all those who watched, supported and believed in us thank you. Your love means everything. On the next chapter, with nothing other than love in my heart.
Essence Atkins, who played Ivy in the series, shared the post of Wayans Sr. on his Instagram history, with the legend “#Grateful”.
